Stanadyne vs Powerservice

I have been running Powerservice (gray) but would like to try some Stanadyne. Where best to find it in the Houston area or even better - where best to order it from online?

Is there much difference between the two?

That's the problem. Finding Stanadyne is difficult... I can walk into any Walmart and pick up Power Service. Thus, the reason I switched from Stanadyne to PS in my truck.

I have run both in my truck, and have not noticed any difference. And with Stanadyne being harder to get a hold of, I stuck with Power service.

Dodge dealership in my area carries the Stanadyne. I don't know it Stanadyne help with gelling or not. Maybe someone can weigh in on that.

Most of the truck stops carry both products, your local big truck dealers like Peterbuilt at the parts counter.

I agree find what is available in your area and run it, no matter what the brand, just make sure it is one of the top ones.

Sabow,

We are waiting for a Stanadyne order to hit the loading dock as we type this! We chose Stanadyne as they are the only OEM approved conditioner and they have the highest ratings as well. So high in fact that John Deere wanted Stanadyne to package their product in their Green/yellow containers and they wouldn't do it, so JD basically copied it and packages it themselves!!! That's a good product endorsement!!

Stanadyne also does NOT contain any alcohol, lots of brands do and while not horrible for a diesel its used only because it's cheap. We don't have it on our site yet, but will soon and you can always get a hold of us for orders. If you want to order some now just call, we'll ship it the day it arrives!!

When Diesel performance was out the last time I needed a case I found a site on E-Bay who had some cases. But I would rather buy from our advertisers. I buy it by the case and keep a couple of bottles behind the seat and I use it with every tankfull. Never had a problem in 22K miles on a Jan 04 build. As you can see it doesn't get driven much..Good Luck

Diesel Kleen is Power Service (Power Service is the manufacture, Diesel Kleen is the product). Grey bottle for warm weather, White bottle for winter.

BTW like Stanadyne, Diesel Kleen does not contain alcohol either.

www.powerservice.com/

Stanadyne can also be purchased on the web direct from manufacture
www.stanadyne.com/new/ppt/ppt_dfa.asp

Hope this helps

Arrow Yes . . .

Sorry, didn't mean to imply a question, more of a statement that using this is also good, nonalcoholic and readily available too as reason able price. Don't use the white btl here on the gulf coast, never cold enought . . .

See I am a transplanted yankee, and the so called drivers here in Hosuton don't go out much when it does that so if you don't drive (and it melts w/in 24 hours or so) there is nooo need for the white stuff as it is warm and toasty in the garage!

Unlike where they shut the airport down as the air is too hot to provide lift to the planes. Do they make a gold for those days so the diesel stays dense enough . . .

Stanadyne plays up the "Ford approved", but Ford dealers can buy PowerService thorugh their Blue Oval or Diamond program (not sure of the exact name). As well, only PowerService is the fuel additive used or recommended by International....

Both brands are quality and will serve you well. I will have to go back and find my old post/link where I posted that I called Stanadyne and Powerservice about 9 months ago.... but until use either at full or double dosage for great results.

I use Powerservice due to availability and lower cost.

By the way, I use a camping fuel bottle (msr.com) so I can refill it from the 96oz jugs of PowerService I buy (less expensive to refill).
