Chrysler Engine Installation?
That sounds like a neat swap. I was definitely a little hard on Vern and I am sure he'll be bent. As most of the board regulars are aware, I am wound a little too tight. I think the issue is we are using FTEs bandwidth. The rules from day one are no indepth discussion of non-Ford engines. It is not an issue of whether or not Ken has the right to decide if Carl installs a Packard motor or Vern installs a Geo Metro engine. Clearly that is none of his business. Ken can and has decided he doesn't want 350 Chevy camshaft threads here. There are only about three rules here. Be civil, don't advertise and don't turn this into a non-Ford forum. You and I have been here for years and it seems that on a weekly basis someone wants to debate whether we should talk about SB Chevy swaps. I think that FTE has the right to make the rules. You and I can't agree on what color the sky is.
Am I wrong to say FTE makes the rules, post somewhere else if you ain't happy about that? 'fenders
At first I decided I would not post anything after your comments, but on second thought I didn't think I said anything that derogatory, so here goes:
If you're lookin' for an argument you will have to look elsewhere. I don't do that. I do, however, think I have more of an open mind about drive trains than the moderator of the site. But, that's okay, because as you said it's Ken's site, and Ken can do whatever the heck Ken wants to. If it were my site I'd do the same.
Also, when you offered the loan of the video, I did tell you that I appreciated it, but that I wasn't far enough along yet to need it. If you still have it when the time comes and you still want to loan or sell it to me, I'd be grateful, otherwise I'll buy one myself. I have no intention of trying to install this Chrysler 'K' member without one. Thanks again for offering it.
I have nothing but good things to say about this site...a great group of guys.

I am the moderator of this forum.
Please tell me what I have ever said to make you feel that you "have a more open mind" than I do. I feel that I have always tried to be respectful and courteous to all.
I also have repeatedly stated that I respect all others projects, and that I do not judge anyone for their choice of engine. I do not make the rules here. That is done by the owner/administrator. I only help to uphold the rules here as the moderator.
True, my own personal preference is for Ford engines in my own trucks. Does this somehow make me close minded, or do you have me confused with someone else?
Someone else borrowed the video. I hope to have it back soon. You are welcome to borrow it assuming I get it back. Sorry about the harshness of my comments. It seems that we have been through this discussion a hundred times. The rules need to be more prominently displayed somewhere. How I don't know, but I guess there has to be a better way than wait for someone to screw up and them correct them. If you decide to go Ford, you will soon realize that this is about the only place to go where you don't have to do a search to sort out the Ford info.

The rules as they were explained to me are that non-Ford engine discussions are not forbidden, but rather "frowned upon".
That is kind of a "grey" description, which is really hard to enforce one way or the other from a moderator's standpoint. Personally, I wish it was more "clear cut" too.
I apparently need some work on my reading comprehension because I never even realized it was a gray area. I thought it was not allowed which is quite obviously the way I would prefer it. FTE needs to make a stand or stop frowning. Separate Chevy/Mopar thread, not allowed at all, or whatever. I'm glad I'm not the moderator the way it is now.
