Sputtering Engine
My 84 is starting to spit and sputter when I hit the gas. Up hills, it slows down (still sputters), down hill, it shoots flames sometimes. This truck has absolutely no power at all.
Fuel filter is new about 2 months ago..should it be changed again? I was gonna add another filter but i accidently ran it over the other night and cracked it.
Anything else?

Could be several other things other than the fuel filter.
Check the distributer cap and rotor button for fouling or moisture.
Quite honestly, it could be most any of the ignition components, the carb, or a vacuum leak. I'd follow normal tune up proceedures.
