'99 Explorer w/(302) Idle Problem

'99 Explorer w/(302) Idle Problem
I have a 1999 Explorer with a 302 and it's idling extremely low (around 250rpm). The truck is barely running and drains the battery if I don't give it gas. Does anyone know what might be causing this problem?

Start by pulling the codes. There may be a code thrown even if the CEL is off. Also, have you checked the charging system? Does it always start, or do you need to jump start it?

It's started with no problem until now. I have to give it gas now so it will turn over. The check engine light isn't on but I'll get it checked for codes

Thanks for the quick response. I ended up having a bad Idle Air Control Valve.
