Hey, I got a couple of quick questions. Now im looking into buying a 1994 F-350 with a 7.3 Turbo. I went to auto zone and i found out that ford made 3 different kinds of diesels that year. I have no clue what one it is. But however, I went to go start it up and it had a hard time wanting to crank over. Well it started up, and i looked at the volt guage and it was bouncing and then it stoped. After that i shut it off and started it again and it started right up no problems. What would cause this?? I was thinking the altinator. Im not sure. Also what else should i look for. I did notice a leak from the trans and my dad said it was from a vent tube. Whats that all about?? Please help im thinking of buying this truck soon so any help would be welcome and apprechiated. Thankyou Im also gonna be a first time diesel owner!
Its got a garrett turbo on it. Funny becuase my dads garrett on his 02 powerstroke made that thing look like a pea shooter, but yet that 94 made his truck look like a 150 lol. Thats what i told him lol. But Right now im just concerned on that starting problem. Im thinkin it wasnt started for a while and it is around 38 Degrees out side rite now. So im thinkin that has something to do with the sitting and the cold temps. Also, How many quarts of oil does it take?? If i do get it, it will definatly need a oil change soooon. Thanks
the sad thing is is your right your dads truck does look like a f150 compared to an obs. and if it is a stroke that little turbo is better than his HUGE turbo. all the super dootie guys want our turbos.
Awesome, I looked at this truck today and started it up and it was Really loud. I looked under it and the muffler was off. The only thing i didnt like was the 2 1/2 inch pipe or whatever it was. Whats the size of the down pipe?? And also where can i get an aftermarket down pipe?? Im planning on making this one a puller. Its a crew cab long box and it looks like its ment to be a puller. Well when i say puller i mean at the local truck and tractor pulls. Its got rust on both fenders and on the box but im a body guy and thats no biggy so im gonna wait till spring to do that. Well thanks for the info again
