Block heater testing?

Block heater testing?

How do I go about testing my block heater? Ive tested the cord and its in good working shape but my block heater dosent seem to be working? If it is bad how do I go about replacing it? Thanks for the help!

Test for continuity across the 2 flat lugs on the plug. Or use a test light. No reading/light = bad heater or bad cord.

It takes 2-3 hours for the heater to get the coolant fully up to temp.

To replace drain the coolant, remove heater (above oil filter) & reinstall.

ok so the heater part is above the oil filter, the cord gos to a connecter on the passenger side thats in one of the freeze plug holes. I'll have to try to find pictures of the heater cause I'm not sure of what it looks like, and the manual I have is completly usless as far as this stuff goes!
