E350 E4od whine

I found some sujects concerning this but none like mine

1996 E350 based small class C RV with 460 ( 7,5L )

Bought the RV 4 years ago , had a whine that seemed to be from the Dana 70 , dismantle it , changed bearings seals etc.., same whining , wanted to switch to rear disc brakes , changed complete diff from a 1999 E350 , changed bearings seals etc... same whining sound since the change , backlash , gear pattern ,ok

the whine occurs mostly between 53 - 62 mph .......at 65 mph nothing silence !
if I accelerate , coast : whining but if I leave gas pedal ( deccelerate ) no more whine

I start to think that it might be from the transmission E4OD .....
It works real good , never overheats ( gauge )

Could It be in the tranny or should I concentrate more on the differential ?

Anyone ever had this problem ?

thanks

Dan

Logic says since you've worked on the differential and this whine still exists it has to be coming from somewhere else. However I've had a few E250's with a noticeable noise that seemed to come from the differential, how of if I loaded the van made a difference on that noise. Once I had refitted the van with tool boxes, tools and materials the GVW rose from 5300# to 7600# and the noise is no longer noticeable at all.

I'm NOT experienced with set up or refreshing differentials but this does sound like a condition with the ring and pinion gears, could be the drive shaft angle changing when on or off the gas?

Hope this isn't anything too serous---good luck with sorting this out.

JWA'
would you believe that at a certain point , I tought it might be the drive shaft causing an harmonic sound wave ,,,,,

I had my wife drive the RV , I crawled on the floor from front to back to try to isolate the source of the whining .....the sound seems to invade the whole RV interior .....
