I just did a disc brake swap on my 67, the doner was a 74. I was wondering if I should use the brake lines from the doner (by lines I mean from the wheel to the master cylinder) Or can you buy then new? If so are they expensive?
You can buy steel brake lines real cheap. Grab a good bender and a double flare tool and enough couplings to make the whole runs(s) and have at it. Do get the old lines off the donor truck to use as templates for bending the new ones if you can. The old lines could be 2006-1974=32 years old. With the level of corrosion that can accumulate in that length of time, the chances of one getting damaged during removal are pretty high.
67f100 - I have a similar project underway and wanted to ask Red something.
Red - Question - what size lines for a '69 F250 or does it matter? Also, is there a source for the frame mounting hardware, or should I make sure to gather as much of that off my donor truck?
Thanks for the feedback. and letting me jump in here 67
