I just noticed that it's been 3 years since I've posted! But the good news is that I still have the same 1972 F100 .. Yeah!
** The problem I'm having now, is that I can't get the hesitation out of my truck when i take off from a stop. This happens when the engine is hot, cold, warm, etc.. I'm not sure if I just need new plugs and a tune up or what.. I have insalled new points, and entire new dist shaft, new spark plug cables, but there it still is...
Thanks, it's good to be back..!
Look down into the carb and see if you are getting a good squirt of fuel from the accelerator pump. There is a ajustment on the linkage to get more or less of a squrit as needed.
I have had the same problem on my '69 w/ a 390 and it is a studder. I have tried adjustment on the carb and on the timing. Do you think it could be the stock manifold? I have questioned this because i bought the truck a year ago and it had been bored out and had a cam in it. So could it be that it needs to be upgraded to a performer intake?
