I read the tech article on performing a disk brake conversion to a 67 f-100. I have already found a booster, MC, and proportioning valve. I am now looking for spindles, rotors and calipers. I checked all of the local yards (rochester NY) for parts off of a 75 f150/f250 but everyone says they are too old. I have looked on line and ebay but have had no luck. I don't have room to buy a doner and strip it so I am looking on some advice on finding used parts. Does any one have or know where to purchase these parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have what you need, but the shipping cost would probably be more than their worth. I live in California. I paid $150 for the used spindle assembly including calipers and rotors. I then decided to buy a complete kit from Master Power Brakes for about $1200. Pricey but using all new parts was worth it
Donovan, You need to find a yard that will let you walk around and look. That way you can find the parts and see what condition the donor truck is in. Avoid hard frontal damaged vehicles. Any F100 or F150 thru 1979 will work. It is easiest to pull the I Beam with spindle and caliper attached, fewer small parts to lose. Buy the catalog from www.mpbrakes.com (actually a good manual). In 80 Ford went with a front steer setup and the parts are different. You are going to need lots of bits and pieces, so find a yard operator that is friendly and helpful. Maybe you could buy a truck, take it to the yard, strip off what you need and leave the rest? Everyone will tell you the truck is too old! Don't believe it! There are millions of these old trucks in junk yards and for sale cheap! Keep looking.

I will ahve to keep looking. I do need to find a good yard because I am also istalling a 5.0 efi w/ AOD trans. I have all the major parts except harness and computer. I will try looking in Buffalo and Syracuse. It is probably worth the 1.5 hour drive to save some bucks. Thanks for the advice.
those parts are an easy find here in PA(east coast near philly)
now body panels are another story, but driveline and suspension are an easy find...Let me know if your close or if you want me to get you a price with shipping...
I replyed to another post but will (brag) tell again. I found a 79 truck with all the swap parts for my 67 Stepside F100 on ebay also it was local to KC For the steal price of $125.00. Power steering, Disc breaks, motor stands for 302, Trans cross member, with a god 302 and auto. If your in a hurry pay the price but a deal will fall in your lap if ya wait. This is the first for me. I normally find these deals only after I already paid a higher price.
Dave, Man I can so relate! Seems I always pay about twice what this stuff is worth. Patience and shopping around are the best bet. Congrats on your lucky buy!

the lincoln swap mention earlier is not as straight forward as the post made it sound. the lincoln has a smaller bolt pattern (but bigger than other ford cars!) that won't work with 5 on 5 1/2 bolt pattern. unfortunately the rotor can not be redrilled and used on a truck axle as the axle will not fit into the back of the rotor unless you turn it down and then the studs will be right at the edge (not good). the only option would be to use the 5 on 5 bolt pattern that a lincoln has and either use adapters or GM wheels. i guess that is the reason these rear ends are so common in junkyards, they are about as useless as anything. as a side note i even thought about just using the caliper bracket and caliper and finding another rotor but the caliper actually hits the end of the axle when mounted on a stock truck axle. been there done that, wasn't really worth the effort. hawkrod
well, i guess you could do that, but when i moved out of the back country i swore i wouldn't have another vehicle with two different bolt patterns on the wheels (i am kinda fussy, i like all my wheels to be the same on the house and the truck )(G). given what replacement parts cost for those old brakes a new conversion kit just makes a lot more sense to me. you can buy a kit with brackets and rotors (you have to buy cadillac calipers) for 200 and it uses readily available parts. try buying a rotor for a 77 lincoln, last time i had to get one it was 145 my cost. hawkrod
I don't want to be rude, but Hawkrod is correct - typing in all caps is considered SHOUTING on the internet and brands one as a newbie faster than most anything else.
Look at all of the other posts - is anyone else typing in all caps?
Please keep posting - you obviously have considerable knowlege about these trucks.
ok boss.changing it boss.. is this better?? since i am so stupid i can't tell... what i can tell you, is what i have done. not what you should do... this is the way i did the swapover.. like it or not, it works fine.... yes i have a cnc mill(FADAL VMC 8030) that i can change hole patterns or make o.d. (outside dim.) smaller.. for me this is eazy.. but i can see how it may sound hard to people that don't have access to these machines.. since i am so stupid i want to know what makes you so smart.. what are you qualifications to make this assumption.. you know what assume means i hope.. *** U ME..
