newbie ?'s please help

I might be buying a 79 f150 4wd with the big 6! Anyway I want to do the standard power mods(4barrel,efi exhaust,offy dp) but have some questions.

1. I prefer edelbrock carbs will their 500cfm work?or will it be to big?

2. will the walker downpipe fit on this truck?

3. Where can I find a heated carb spacer? I live in Minnesota

There are several threads that address all of your questions. At the top of your first post box there are 3 blue boxes, select the one that says 'search this thread'. Type in the words that you want search and it will bring up anything with that word.

My bad. Revert back to the list on the Forum page and hit the 'Search this Forum' buttom. That will work a little better

1. Probably. Theres a member on this forum though who built a 300 6 with a edelbrock(ithink) 500. However he put some money into his motor, i assume he has the right heads/cam to go with it. I would probably go with something smaller. Do some more research though, cause this is just what ive gathered so far from hours of reading, its not like im telling you from experience.

Some of the intakes have a provision for water heat I belive Clifford's does. I have an Offy "C" & while it doesn't have a water heat provision, it has the exhaust heat provision. I'm using the EFI exhaust manifolds so I just made a heating plate & bolting it to the intake. By plumbing water hoses to the heater through this plate, I now have intake heat.
