I've removed about 399 air bags without ever unhooking the batteries...#400 is gonna blow my head off now, thanks to you guys!

Drive fast...take chances!

P.S. I also run with scissors!

You're absolutely right there, I'm gonna have someone else unplug the next one for me!

But seriously I DO NOT advocate unsafe shortcuts. Not following the safety procedures for airbags to the letter is like playing Russian roulette!

This air bag stuff is all good, Tom when will you be checking that PCM? It's killing me. I went out today and thought I would have some feedback when I got back????? Now we are talking about airbags. Let's cross that wife when we get to it.
Are you going to try the swap?

SORRY, BUD... was tackling my roof yesterday and coming in here for relief. I'll be checking that this afternoon, so put your mind at ease, til, say, 4-ish? lol... thanks for the concern tho!
That's an unfair cliff-hanger. My parts man says "It's NEVER the PCM!" I like seeing him proved wrong...time and time again.
Oh that's a parts man I'd have to think twice about taking advice from! That's like saying, "Computers NEVER crash....*never crash...*never crash....

Well, I did it.
I put the SUSPECT PCM From truck 1 into truck 2, known to be in good running order. Truck 2 did NOT FIRE with the PCM, so I took a chance and put the PCM from Truck 2 into truck 1 and she fired right off!!! Unfortunately I had to switch everything back to where it was, as we have a crew leaving with truck 2 tomorrow evening, but at least NOW I can buy a pcm for truck 1 in peace, not risking my livelihood.
Thank you all SO much for your help! Without the aid of this site I would have tossed so many of these trucks into the stealership and rolled the dice of fate.
So what have I learned, here? 1. PCMs can and will fail, and I have even had to buy a couple for my own personal vehicles in the past. so I already KNEW that. But a PCM can fail on an individual circuit or even its memory can fail and still other key processes go on as normal.
2. When you connect/disconnect and tighten/retighten your battery cables too many times, sometimes they CRACK... lol... oh well I knew SOMETHING was gonna have to give in all of this!
Glad you isolated the problem Tom. I would have done just as you did swapping both ways but as my discalimer statement said, I did not want to be responsible in the unlikely event of disaster. Glad you had another truck at your disposal. Think how hard this one is with just one truck.
I can get a reman from Jody for $250, plus it'll have the extra flash 80 horse. s far I've had no trouble with the one in my OWN truck so I have no worries getting another from him! Thank you all, again!
