390 Fe, 5 spd

Any body know if there is a 5 spd transmission that will bolt up to a 390. I have heard that a 5 spd from the 300 6cyl. will work. Anybody have any good advice. Thanks

five spd

72, the 300's five speed won't fit. But there are lots of Clark 280 series five speeds out there that will bolt right up. What did you have in mind ? DF

Check with Advanced Adapeters http://www.advanceadapters.com/ .
I have seen a ZF 5-Speed bolted to an FE with one of their adapters. Also NV4500's as well.

Is there a part number for the 5 speed Trans that will bolt up to an FE Block or will all Clark 280 Tran. work? I have a 69 4X4 with a NP 205 Transfer case and would love to match up a 5 speed tranny for my truck.
