Wednesday my 2006 SD PSD 6.0 would not start. The engine was warm as I had been running errands. The engine would crank and not start. Had it towed to the dealer where it did not start on arrival. The next morning it started. They kept it all Thursday and part of Friday with it starting just fine on a number of ocasions. No codes showing. It's only got 2800 miles on it.
Sounds like the typical high pressure oil pump fitting leak to me. What they need to do is get it hot and let it sit for about 20 minutes and try to restart it. They generally start fine after cooling down, especially when the temperatures are lower and the oil thickens up.
Snap to Connect quick connect fitting is replaced and then an additional bracket is added. I'm sure one of the Techs can give more detail of time for the snap connect kit.
you have to remove the turbo, and the intake and then the high pressure oil pump cover. remove the pump unscrew a fitting, replace fitting and the rewind. warranty time is like 4 and a half hours.
