Since the 352 & 390 are both FE Style engines they req' same transmission or have the same restrictions, depending on how you want to interpret that. Of all the Bolt in options that came OEM with the FE engines, IMHO the C-6 is the best choice of the lot.

In order to retro a 4spd A/T as in an AOD you will have to adapt to get one to fit the FE engine block bolt pattern. I personall am not familiar enough with FE Upgrades in the current market to tell you where to go for what you need to do what you want.

On their web site I can't believe the hp and tq numbers they're running thru other automatics vs the 450 hp / 450 tq C-6. Question is how long with they last?

That seems a bit pricey.

Lentech is cheaper and does have some good reviews out there. http://www.lentechautomatics.com/aodproducts.html

Or Gear Vendors would fit behind you regular C6 and give you overdrive for cheaper as well.

Just some thoughts.

Here's a question I've had but not asked. Will the c4 tranny bolt up to a 351C?

Yes, they both have the small block bell bolt pattern.

Gear Vendors cost between $2,600 and $5000 befor shipping thats unbeleaveable. it would be cheeper to just put a new aod in.

Prices vary on everything. Most applications here for Gear Vendors would run on the cheaper side of that scale. And you can get them much cheaper on ebay. Installation shouldn't be much trouble for the posters here.

The AOD would be about the same price for new vs. new. Just giving all the options out there.
