on the bottom there is a valve that looks just just like a valve from a cylinder head. there should be no clearance between the valve and housing. pull it open gently and clean on the seat as well. when you are done, get some cetane booster and add a double dose now and next fill up as this may be fuel related. also if you do alot of idiling, cut it out. yesterday i finished putting a egr cooler and intake on due to excessive carbon fron extended idling and no burn off.

Thank alot for your help.I cleaned the valve all up and put it back in and runs fine.I will go right now and fill up and add the cetane booster.

just remember to fill up the right leg with leaded plus for the rd trip.

My 04 did this and it was both wiring harnesses went bad, egr valve bad, reprogramed computer. They worked on it for over 3 days after parts arrived. Talked to mechanic and he said it was a very extensive job to do.

Double dose?How much should i use of the diesel Kleen?It says 32 oz.treats -3numbers 100 gallons or 6 numbers 50 gallons.My tank is 29 gallons.

i am not familiar with the diesel kleen. i use the stuff at work because we stock it.

I would use 16 oz for the first fill. Then it will be trial and error if you want to reduce it. Listen to your engine - it will tell you what it likes. Turn off the radio and just listen.
