Has anyone converted a manual sliding rear window to power on a 2005 F250. I know there available on the newer trucks but I havn't seen one yet. It's a real pain to reach the rear window but my dog always want's to have his head out the back. Does any one make a coversion kit?
Thanks
You will have fun trying to do this. I can tell you there is a motor mounted to the rear wall, left of the window, which uses a wire pully to pull the window open and then reverses for closing. Can't tell you how the wire is attached to the window or if the electrical wires are there already.
Hemm....... First I have ever heard of these power rear sliding windows. I usually just ask one of the kids to open the window. You could probably jury-rig a cable so that you could open and close it from the driver seat.
Duct tape, an old close line, two coat hangers and the pullies from your neibors close line. Duct tape one end of the close line to the left rear power window, run it throught the pullie and mount with the clothes hanger and duct tap. Tape the line to the rear sliding window, and run accros the back to the other pullie, roll down the right rear power window and tape to it. Now to open your sliding rear window, close the right rear window while opening the left. To close would be just the opposite.
I should work with red green.
Remember, if the women don't find you handsome, they should atleast find you handy.
The crlaurence looks good but I checked out the web site and it looks like it only fits up to 2003 on the F250. Anybody know the aprox. price on one of these?
Does anybody know what the FORD part number is for the factory rear sliding window or is there a ford kit that i guy get?
Last time I checked you had to order the whole rear window w/ the power option included, it was on an F150 SC. If you can find one in a salvage yeard you could work it out but if you try to get it through FORD you have to do the whole rear window replacement.

That is what i am looking for. Why would you want just the window without the power option?

This thread started out as an upgrade from a manual slider to a power slider. To DIY you will need to search the salvage yards for the parts as FORD will only sell you the whole window pkg.
If you have no manual slider now then you don't have that challenge do you . . .
