isnt there a website that has the ball joint replacement pictures and step by step instructions??? my tires look like this /---\ and its killin my tread. so i need to fix this soon and adjust my camber while im at it. anyone got any help?
no i have not, i replaced them about 2 years ago, so im not really sure, i figured while im in there i might as well replace them if my knuckles are taken apart
i agree that my camber is off deffinately. but i remember there being a website about someone changing their ball joints and i assumed it had somethin on there bout adjusting the camber
Lots of these trucks were way off form the factory cam's will fix this.
Jack up the truck and grab the tire one hand on top and one on the bottom and try to move the tire.
If ball joints are shot you will have alot of movment.
Ball joint's will last a lot longer then 2 year's unless you drive 50k a year.
by cam's you mean camber? i think i kn ow what your tlakin about, that hollow pipe with the teeth around the top outside of the pipe. and also at the top of the little pipe, where the teeth are, it gets progressively bigger as you turn it, like a spark plug gapper. its on the upper ball joint.
i was lookin at that. ill probably mess with it and just stick a level to my disc brake to make sure its straigh up and down.

The front end shops do that even with the stock setup - play with the adjustments til everything lines up.
Nelly - Make sure the weight of your truck is compressing the front end when you check the disc's or your tires will look like /---\ when you are done.
