I have a 1972 grille shell that's in perfect shape with the 2 plastic inserts. However, 1972 is not my favorite look. I was wondering if 1970 plastic inserts fit the 1972 grill?
The grille shell for a 71 and 72 interchange. The 70 looks similar, but the inserts are more shallow so the shell tabs are not as deep.
Changing to the 67-69 style involves the grille itself, headlight doors, and the stone shield behind the bumper. The parking lights mount to the shield on the 70-72 but attach to the grille on the earlier models.

Yup, a bit more work and parts chasing, but at least I got rid of the plastic egg crate grille... The only thing I don't like on the 70 and up bodies is the grille. Working on a stainless tube grille for a '73, need some time to get it done someday.....
