Problems when lugging
I have a 94 f150 302, 5 spd, 287,xxx miles. I have an intermittent problem during acceleration. When I press the throttle into a "lugging" position it cuts out. I have to let the throttle completely out and then ease into it again. The majority of the time I can hold the throttle to the floor if I want to and it will accelerate fine, but when the truck is in a bad mood it is very difficult to get up to speed. Sometimes this is accompanied by a check engine light, sometimes not. Fuel pumps have been replaced in the past and it does this on both tanks. I just replaced the cap, rotor, plugs, and wires to no benefit. It happens more often when the truck is not up to temperature. Any suggestions?
