It's true 'fenders, 'Rage has taken me under his wing.

And while I'm learning quite a lot, he keeps calling me "Grasshoppa" and signs all his emails "Masta Cain" ......and something about "snatching the pebble"....

How about:

'57 F-100, shortbox styleside,
'90 EFI 5.0 w/Powerdyne supercharger
(not your usual little girlie 302)
T-5
8.8, 3.55 gears, de-arched springs, traction bars
Fatman up front.
235/60 x 15 in front
295/50 x 15 in rear

"keep it all Ford" all the time.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 08-Dec-02 AT 04:19 PM (EST)]'fenders, have you noticed all these flatheads? Come on boys and girls, tell the truth about your 4, 6 & 8 power plants and let the rest know that valve covers are just another passing fancy!

MT SASSY, huh!? Well how-dee-do, that's the nicest thing anybody's said about me in a long time....

This was recieved offline by guess who and his sidekick

Fenders,

I want to launch a formal appeal to the judges-

Big, manly Cordoba/Fury IFS's with the big, manly longitudinal torsion bars
should be catagorized seperately from the "volarE, eh-eh" little wushy-man
units with the girly cross-ways torsion bars.

The official position at this time:

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, now quitcherwhinin Mopar Boys!

Now maybe if I saw just one small picture of this wonder suspension, we would consider this new category. Until such time as a shred of evidence is offered, the judges will consider it to be "sub" Volare, homebrew Volare, or a wanna be Volare. Your weak rebuttals will be reviewed by 'fenders,Niolon&Arthur INC when such new evidence is produced. and as always, please feel free to view our galleries/websites for inspiration.

'fenders

Oh Oh! Now I'm toast. Not only do I have all the 5.0L owners after me but now all the VolarE,Eh,Eh owners as well.

Thank goodness it's winter here in the Ottawa Valley. The pass will be blocked till spring. So I'm safe till then anyway.

Don't listen to them Ferguson. After you've BOLTED your IFS in and have been drivng your truck for a few months, Niolon will just be finishing up his Aerostar IFS and preparing to cut it back out to make way for the stock straight axle. I think that we ought to mark him down once in all the IFS categories just to make sure we get it right. He hasn't even started in with the engine yet - better hit them all once too!

Ah yes, my dear Mr. Fenders, oh wise accounting wizard. Since nothing else seems to quite please your holiness, I will return directly with the ugly photos of my chassis and will post them UNDER PROTEST! In return, I DEMAND that I be recognized independently for my efforts. It disgusts me to even think that I'm being categorized with all you unimaginative Volare peasants. Ick!

Dewayne,

At this point I have a stock 223 6 cyl, stock 3 sp. on the tree, a stock straight-axle front end, and stock rear axle. However...

I have all the parts for the Cordoba IFS, I have a 9" rear axle ready to go in, I'll be pulling a 272 out of a 55 Vicky and mating it to a 3sp w/OD. Gotta finish my wife's Vicky before I disable my 54 F100 to fix it up.

For now you'd have to put me in the stock category, but that won't last.

Hey Batty...

nice pics... I'm glad we finally got to see what is so special that you have to "demand". Looks kinda neat ... not as neat as a MII, but kinda neat.

O.K. Fenders, uh.. Arthur.. what ever the heck your name is today !!!... as official accounting appointer, I'm authorizing you to create a new catagory for this multitude of three... call it the "Whiney-i'm-just-gonna-pout-and-jump-up-and-down-if-i-don't-get-my-count-Dakota group .... total 3.. duly approved by executive order #2

The squeeky wheel gets the grease don't it ??? bet that Dakota IFS squeeks as loud as their owners !!

BTW Bat... never been any choice for engine but 460 and will stay 460 even if gas hits 3.00 a gallon... we won't be driving quite as much but it will sound good idling in the garage

Oh... and another BTW..., In response to your "I DEMAND that I be recognized independently for my efforts..."

By executive order #3 ( in Fenders absence) I hereby recognize Batman a.k.a. BlueOvalRage for the efforts he made independently !

anything else squeeky ???

later

john

'rage

At this time I am pleased to announce that your IFS has some minor differences from mine and your wish will be granted. I will break out a separate category. BTW, 90% of the parts on your IFS will interchange with my Volare, but who am I to split hairs.

By the way, your resistance to share PICs of your project with your FTE friends is unwarranted IMO. I don't know what you see but I see a guy building a truck. Thanks for sharing!

Paul

Your project will be charted according to your plan. Completion of modifications is immaterial. Almost everybody here is "in progress"

Himmelberg

Thank you so kindly for the spreadsheet. I was seriously contemplating a spread to ensure I did not have to face the wrath of a miscount. You saved me hours of time.

Arthur

not so good power brakes

It takes some big ***** to drive this thing now. Wish I had an indie rear and front of Ford vintage.

Joe,

Thanks for posting the pictures. Your installation looks very tidy and I like the idea of bolting the crossmember on instead of welding it on. Maybe we should start a topic about your Gibbon/Cordoba IFS installation. It might help you with ideas for your tech article write-up.

Does your 351 have a rear sump? I'll have to scrounge a rear-sump pan for the Y-block I intend to put in my F100.
