OK, update time

We have three guys with the courage to keep it like Henry made it. Y blocks and straight axles forever!!!!!!!!!!

We also have three guys with no chance of finding a waterpump at Autozone on a Saturday night.

We have at least three trucks with little chance of getting over 10 mpg but that's not why you built it is it?

I haven't entered my truck yet, but as soon as Vern finds a smallblock, then all three Dodge clip guys will be running smallblock Fords. Could it be that nothing else will fit.

There are absolutely no Camaro clips.........yet..........but we do have one guy with a demonstrated inability to make a firm decision on which IFS front suspension is best this month.

We have one color blind German who is sleeping right now.

'fenders has only made one Chevy guy mad so far. Pretty slow night

First of all, the results that Vern has posted are fairly representative of the real streetrod world. You are going to get the opposite extreme here on FTE I believe. We can add up the "statistical data" in a few days when more folks check in.

Here is my ride

Engine- Converted from Chevy 305 to Ford 302

Transmission- From Turbo 350 to C-4

Rearend- Was Chrysler 8 3/4, now Ford 9 inch

IFS- Was and still is Volare, if it is anything less than I expect when we get back on the road, I may hack it off at the firewall and try a Ford clip such as LTD or T-Bird. If it rides nice with the Volare, I'll hold my nose and keep the hood shut.

1957 f-100

Ford 390,
Ford c-6
Ford 9" rear with 3.73
Original straight axel up front, complete rebuilt

And the all consuming frame off restoation that has gone on for far too long, but enjoying every minute of it!

Oh yeah, forgot the brand X steering column installation. (It was an inexpensive and fairly easy install)

... Color blind, eh ? Could you guys put colored photos in your galleries, please. I only see light grey, medium grey and dark grey trucks everywhere, .... ?!?! LOL

'fenders, do I get extra points for saying that I removed a brand X 327 and a brand X TH400 from my truck right after I got it? I WANT SOME EXTRA POINTS. NOW.

Oh by the way, there was a sales posting in a Swiss web site for a 1953 F100 Ambulance (must be a Panel or did someone purpose built other Ambulance bodies onto a F100 chassis ?). I have requested photos. The truck is posted at SFR 4,800 or so (that is roughly $ 3,000) and it is not driving. Have asked a 1000 questions and hope to have some answers soon. This is an I6 - 3 Speed.

Do I really need another project ???

New trends developing..........

The 390s are starting to pour in like SBC 350s at a Street Machine Nationals Event....

Dind,Ding,Ding we finally have a Camaro clip, I just knew you'd drop in Truckfarmer.... I can't slam these in case the Volare gig doesn't work out, my choices will be limited here in no new frames within 500 miles land .

Kai has requested bonus points for pulling a Chevy drivetrain and replacing with a Ford.......... 50 points so awarded, please mark it in the official record at this time. You are the wind beneath my wings Kai. High fives!!!!!!

Kai has also pointed out that everybodies trucks are flat black and gray at this time. I don't know what he is talking about, did I tell you he was color blind?

Gotta go to work

Well, I was hoping NOT to open a can of worms with this thread, but it looks like we're going to have some fun with it anyway. Guess I have to include my truck.

48 Ford F-3
Engine - still undecided but leaning toward SBC
Trans - depends on engine choice, but TH350 if engine is SBC
Front Suspension - Mopar torsion bar
Rear End - Maybe Ford but probably Mopar 8 1/4
Steering Column - GM

I know that's not much to go on, but my truck has a long way to go before any of this is permanent.
