Has anyone installed the One Piece Side windows in a 53-55? What kind of mods did you have to make? Where did you get it from? Did you like it? How difficult was it? The usuall ??. I might be putting one in.
1. folding the tabs down in the window channel after you cut them.
2. cutting one little section of the door interior. (hard to get to)..
I used a plasma cutter on one door, and a reciprocating saw on the other.
it was easier with the saw in the end.
I installed power lifts too, and all is well..
It took me 3 hours for the first door, and 1 hour for the second door.
I am switching doors to a set needing less repair, so I have to redo this again!
I got the kit from Midfifty
one kit mod, use the little metal plates to align the front door channel further out into the window space to make the felt chrome trim show the same all the way around the window space.
I met these guys at the supernats in 04. had a one piece glass set that required no modifications to the door. was curved glass. Was $295 then now on website $250

That $250 is for the 56 door glass, a lot easier than the 55..
I don't know how you would do a 55 with complete one piece glass without moding the door interior bulkhead. You CAN do an almost complete one piece, with the little filler in the front corner so that you DON'T have to mod the door..
