Last weekend we had our first wheeling event at Comanche Ridge , just outside of Bastrop TX.
Besides other makes and models, we had all the different bronco models show up, which was pretty cool to see
The Austin Jeep club has nothing to do with that property. Maybe they were working on a different place.
The mud was fun, but we only played in it for maybe 1hr, the rest was trail riding.
Now I have to fix my broken toy. And it looks like I bent/twisted the frame. But it's all good, it's a trail rig after all. And I like to drive it pretty hard. So, body damage and broken parts are just bound to happen.
The ranch is about 10 miles west of Bastrop, just of hwy 71.
It's not open to the public in general. Our club maintaines the trails and we have the permission from the owner for trail rides and so. We used to wheel there just with the club, but last weekend was the first open event. You paid 5 bucks, signed the waiver and you could play all weekend.
F E Man, it was a hard hit. My neck is still sore. When I powered through the hole thats between those 2 trees, I broke the front left outer shaft and the rear ring and pinion. And when I stepped on the brakes, the motor died and from there it was downhill really fast. The pics and video don't really show how steep that hill is.
Yeah I'm sure its sore and had front and rear carnage. Yeah it must have been pretty steep because you gained speed backwards really fast. Might have been good that the tree was there. Hope you get it all fixed.
