well my transmission seems to shift just fine, though im almost sure the Torque converter is slipping now. because most of the time going down the high way i can be doing 55 to 70 mph and the engine RPM's would be at the same spot=2kRPM's and im almost sure that is what is causing my over drive light to flash at me periodicly. seems that when i really step on it the over drive light isent flasshing at me, but when im taking it easy it will flash at me more often.
id like to do the BTS tranny and tc thing, but right now it may not seem to be the realistic fix, should i look into a stock TC or an aftermarket one?
get an aftermarket one and then later on update the tranny?
just get a stock torque converter and call it good?
i dont do any heavy toeing, just daily driver to the office and back.
How many miles on the truck and what service has been done to the tranny? Might be time for a service and you will definately want to see if there are any codes. I'll bet there are some with the flashing OD light.
128k miles on the truck, i read some where on here that the check engine light would come on most likly if there are codes ? no?
its just that a few times sins iv owned this truck i could be doing 2k rpm's and be going 70mph. but most of the time it stays its at 2k rpm's but going up some small hills the speedo drops to like 60mph even though the rpm's is still at 2k. so im thinking a slipping TC. the over drive works fine, i push the botton and it shifts between the 3rd and 4th gear fine. just it seems when the TC is slipping the light will start flashing at me.

Not all codes will trigger an SES light. Not sure if this is going to be one of them. Sounds almost like your TC may be slipping in and out of lockup. Somebody smarter than me should be along shortly.
im not sure? ill call the used car dealership i bought the truck from and find out today, i know they did an engine oil change on it before i picked it up. but not sure of the rest of the fluids yet. i was thinking of maybe just getting the tranny fluid changed out, but will probebly save a little money if i just get the new fluid put in, if and when i get a TC put in at the same time.
Tranny fuid should be changed at 30K, I would do a complete Flush and fill and change the filter just to be safe and it might solve your slipping problem
One thing to consider, go with a good TC. I went with the Banks billet TC and I feel it was worth the grand. However, there some other good ones for a few hundred less. It is worth it.

Though mine did it around 35 and my light didn't flash, I went to the electrical connections on the trans and the ones that connect to the other plugs on the frame, I took some electronic cleaner and sprayed the crap out of them because mine were full of dirt. Just something that might you.
