oil temp gauge help.
i got a autometer oil temp gauge and dont know where the heck to install it. can someone shed some light on this please. i heard i can go in threw the oil filter or the oil pan. plz help thanks

i am not sure if you could be able to or not but if you could find a adapter for the temp sensor, you could use the drain plug as a potential point. to be honest though i would not worry about oil temp on these very much. the oil cooler is a desecnt size and is usually right along with ect readings.

I installed mine in the oil filter...tapped it out to fit a short section of pipe so the temp bulb wouldn't hit the spring inside and also act as a reservoir for the bulb. I used liquid pipe dope to seal it (After cleaning any oil on threads). Been on over 6 months now...no leaks. And ya gotta remember to make the pipe short enough so you don't hit the hood when you close it.
Figured it was easier and cheaper to replace an oil filter cover than an oil pan if I screwed up.
