2000 expy 5.4 spark plug torque?

2000 expy 5.4 spark plug torque?

does anyone know the correct torque setting on the spark plugs for a 2000 Expedition 4x4 EB 5.4 ??

A quick search revealed that it is 13 lb/ft

are you sure?? i found a ford service CD.. it said 9-20 lb/ft ..??
not sure what 9-20 is though??

Its a range of torque, between 9 and 20 lb/ft. Just put em at 13 and call it a day

how can a range be between 9 and 20?? im not doubting you at all but thats pritty crazy no?? is there any variables that might make a difference? i just dont want to cause any problems to my great running engine...??

Ask Ford. Put the spark plugs at 13 lb/ft and rest easy knowing that they are going to be just fine.

I torqued mine to 15 lb/ft some 45K miles ago and have had 0 problems.

I know the torque might be the same but just in case can someone provide the spark plug torque for 2003 4.6L, thanks

My '97 Service Manual shows 80-178 lbs/in (approx 7 - 15 lbs/ft) for both the 4.6 and 5.4 plugs. I doubt it changed for '03, even with the extra threads.

Got the plugs changed. What a PITA. Glad I went to church today because I said just about every cuss word that exists. You sure have to be patient. Dropped one of the little bolts that holds down the COP. Took forever to get it. Glad I did it myslelf though since it was only 20 bucks for the plugs. I smile when thinking what the stealership would have charged me.
