WalWart is big on Campbell-Hausfeld, is that the one you mean?
Ive heard its an OK welder for farm and garden, wouldnt want to do any frame or angle iron work with it.
For about $85 more you could step up to an Astro 110, those are really a bargain for what they do.
EMail me if you want specs on the Astro, I use it.
the little walmart welder is not a bad welder,i have one ,and i have used it on my 58'to do some spot weld's.i would recommend getting the convertion kit for gas welding.it would be much better,i just converted mine, but have not used it alot yet.get one and give it a try,you could alway's sell it if you don't like it.:-X12
Hi, I have one of those Astromig 110 welders and I can't get it to weld for nothing. Wire won't feed etc. I have better luck on sheet metal with my ac/dc crackerbox and 1/16" 6013 rods. What's the secret to getting the thing to feed?
Ask the dealer you bought it from.
One thing Ive found is that the real cheap deals from Internet companies are not the same welder as from authorized dealers.
The cheap ones have a "wholesale" serial #, are not warranteed by Astro, have Chinese rollers, Chinese stepper motor instead of infinite speed control. If it sells for under $300 its probably not 100% built in Italy.
BTW, did you open it up and remove the internal packing material?
RJ - Welcome to FTE. Here's a link to one of the posts in the Garage Forum. There's been many discussions in that forum regarding welders so if this doesn't answer your questions, you may want to do a search there.
