I asked this question about four months ago and most of the replies said that they didn't really see a increase in mpg, they did it mostly for the power increase. If you search for propane or do a search on my posts you should find it
You will get a mileage increase on your diesel consumption, mine is typically around 1.5 to 2 mpg, but you are burning some propane, I go through about 9 gallons every 800 miles on pretty conservative propane settings.
If you are trying to justify a system by saving fuel money, payout is going to take a really long time, although it helps when deisel is significantly more expensive that propane, like it has been this past summer.
they had an article in the last diesel world magazine (I think) that claimed an additional 10mpg on a 6.0 w/ the system rigged for economy. I'll believe that when I see it. Friend of mine has propane, we're going to drop the flow and turn on boost level to try to rig it for mileage and see what we can actually get out of it. Set for a power increase, he sees virtually no improvement and the propane rarely comes on during normal driving (unloaded)
