for the trans use the teflon paste because they are standard thread and the sender grounds through the threads. for the pyro on the drivers side right where the maniflod turns up into the up pipe because you can drill straight up and all the shavings will fall out and use some anti seise on the threads
the tranny temp sender should be self-sealing, as it is an interference fit pipe thread. put it in, and if it leaks, then put some teflon tape, but leave three or four threads open to contact the tranny case, as it grounds to the case itself.
here is where i drilled and tapped my pyro, actually after cyl 8.
turn your head 90* CCW.
Hey Alan, be real careful not to over tighten the tranny sensor, it will break off. Been-there-done-that.
As far as the pyro, your more that welcome to come over and take alook at mine. However, the kit I got from Garrett had a great picture for the install. I used the hose clamp to install mine instead of tapping it in. I have had no problems.
oh thats right the tranny does have a pipe thread on it where it seals on the threads sorry about that and be very careful when you tap the manifold not to go too deep or get the tap started crooked
