EO4D is a gutless wonder in an IDI engine, Any guess as to how long it would last with a CAT in front of it. Max combined vehile weight with the auto only 12000 lbs. -- My book is for a 93 F-350. BTW, is a relatively cheap upgrade kit for a E04D going to improve its towing capacity???
I looked at the pics and like Dave, I have a hmmmmmmm.......doesn't look stretched any to me. Also says it has air to air....I don't see that OR a turbo either. That engine without a turbo would be no better than the original as far as power.
Cat does make a long lasting, reliable engine, a bit on the heavy side though.
It does have air to air and a turbo, just hard to see. The turbo sits in the valley in the back down behind the air cleaner. It may be pumped up to around 300 hp, but that's pushing it. The 3208s aren't really all that great of an engine. They can get pinholes in the cylinders just like a 7.3. Then you just have a bigger anchor.
I heard that they don't have any more power than an IDI really, maybe a little more torque, but not worth the trouble, except of course to scare the crap outa someone when you showed it to them. However, did you read the bottom where it says he wants $30,000!

ha ha... I wasn't at all thinking about buying the truck but I was just curious about the 3208 swap... Anyhow... I have my turbo kit coming for my 7.3.. Its an ATS Dave so hopefully it will work well for me. I work my truck like Dave does as well so we will see what happens. Now the chore is just finding a way to make more power after the trubo install.
