Smile Turbo Service

How often should you service your turbo. I recently rebuilt mine due to the fact that when I check the play in the impeller shaft it would rub something. Turned out to be carbon. So I cleaned out the carbon and did a mild port job. So my question is how often can I expect to do this?

Hmmm, never had to do that. Where's all the carbon coming from? How many miles on it?

basically, there is no service option to the turbo as long as you keep a good maintainance program with oil, oil filter and fuel filters and let it cool down before shutting it off. the cool down time eliminates the possibility of oil coking around the turbo bearing.
as far as your carbon problem, I've never had that one. Where are you finding the carbon?

Its in the wastegate housing. And a little around the exhaust impeller. The turbo has 360km on it. Now it works better than ever. Spools much faster.
