I know i have seen this here somewhere, but i cant seem to find it by searching the forum. So I decided to pull a buddy out of the mud in the middle of the night, and ended up stuck with a huge hole in my sidewall of my bfg all terrain rear tire. After 6 plugs, fix a flat and an air tank i limped 20 minutes home, and now she sits there all sad with a very flat tire. So now I guess i need to get at least two new ones since the other 3 are worn about 50% and putting one new and 3 old would mess up the ride. I was wondering a couple of things. First, can 35s fit on a 94 f350 4x4 powerstroke with just spacing the bumper out? The wheels i have now, came with the truck, and are 16.5s, which is impossible to find used tires for around here. I have found some 35 bfgs for 16.5 inch rim ($60 each), and not a single used 33. Also does anybody have any suggestions for new tires that arent 200 bucks each? I am looking for mud tires, but i do like the bfg all terrains. Lastly, is it probably just as cheap to find new 16 inch wheels and the more plentiful used 33 12.5 16s? All help is greatly appreciated.
thanks
Remington Mud Brute. Made by Goodyear. Good tire Cheap...35's 142 dollars
Check them out. Maxxis is decent tire as well check ebay. I just put 305/70/16's on my trruck and only had to shim my bumper a bit, no big deal. Not too hard to make your own bumper/airtank from some 6 or 4 inch pipe and some fab skills.
You should be able to find some factory 16" wheels at the local boneyard. See if you can find some when they are crushing cars. The crushing crew normally pulls all tires and wheels off before they crush. I got a couple of spares with good rubber on them for $10 each. I know for sure that a 285/75 will fit with no lift, but I can't vouch for anything bigger than that. I think getting rid of the 16.5"s would be a good move.
i run 35" buckshots on 16" rims no lift. however i do have ranchhands front and rear but still if you trim the inner lip of the front bumper you should be able to run them.
there is always a set of wrangler AT II's (hummer tires) they wear slowly, havea good offroad grip and fit 16.5's. also i have seen sets of them brand new go for as low as $200 at a local auction. check'em out on ebay
