If your 65 is a 2X4 you can use any 2X4 through 79 with the 6cyl. engine. You will need the column (take your time with the wires, your flasher is on the dash, some of the later are on the column. I just eleminated the column flasher) linkages shifting and kickdown, as well as carb connections, and the driveshaft. Look for the boot on the donor where the clutch rod goes through thr floor pan, you won't need the hole any longer. Don't forget to remove the pilot bearing, you can break the transmission bell, I did. Just drop the clutch pedal. The spring can be a bugger, but just stick with it, it'll come. There is a good chance that you will have to have the driveshaft modified, so be ready for that. Plan to be without the truck for 3-4 days or longer.
