Chumley: I have been searching for a long time, and this seems like a good deal. CCD camera, and I think I prefer a mirror mount. Local accessory dealer wants 600.00 for a permanent mount. Would lose Compass, as Gyro is in old mirror. The picture is going to be 4.3". I am a little concerned about the size of the clip on, and will it rattle or fall off.
I have cut a template, the approx. size of this mirror, to stick up there and see.
I was hoping to find someone who had tried their stuff.
Sure glad you responded. Hope you have been able to work in this weather. Jim
Work has been slow with the weather, working 2-3 days a week mostly. Worked 1 day last week and had an MSHA refresher class on Friday. This week I got 5 days in but Lord is it a muddy mess. 10" snow melting and frost coming out of the ground... Ready to stop the conveyor belt to the wood stove and open the windows already! Truck needs a serious cleaning too
I got this from another site. The first thing I noticed was CMOS camera instead of CCD.
CCD is supposed to put out a better picture, from what I have been led to believe.
Anybody using one of these? 7" Mirror with License Plate Backup Camera
Or any of Tadi Bros products.
I had one like that in my 2009 F150 work truck, probably a different brand, can't remember who made it. It was hard to see in the daytime because of all the light. Just like you see the glare in the sample picture. I switched to a floor mounted monitor because it's always dark down there, much easier to see. It's made by 4Ucam and is in the same price range.
