AOD or C6 or ?

I use a c4 behind my 65's 302 engine, my engine is built similar to yours. I would say the c4 would be an easier swap, and they dont rob as much power as a c6 and are lighter. on the other hand a good aod would be great, as long as you properly adjust the TV (throttle valve) cable, you could also run steeper gears inthe rear an get the same mileage compared to a 3spd. IF you go either aod or c4 i would recomend a shift kit, as it will give your trans more life, because they are bad for 2-3 gear flare up.
here is a good forum for c-4s and others, there are many guys running 11s to mid 10s on a sock c4 with shift kit,stall,manual valvebody.
