looking at buying a 2003 to 2005 f-150. Is there anything to take an extra look at or consider when buying a truck in these years. is one year better for any reason. Is there any problems with any of these years i should consider. It would be the 5.4 auto, either crew cab or supercab, 4 wheel drive. Any suggestions or things to consider would be great. thanks
Well the new body style was brought out in 2004. So if you go with a 2003 you will be back to the older body style. I have heard a few people complaining about their 04's on here but I honestly believe that its just chance with the truck. I have an 05 with 60,000 miles on it and I have never had a problem with it and it is running as strong as it was the day i got it.
I had an 03 F150 Fx4 Lariat and liked it a lot -- had NO Problems whatsoever -- However I have an 04 Lariat now (both supercrews)... the 04 just feels a lot TIGHTER, Sturdier, handles better, a little bigger it feels like, and its got a full frame underneathe -- I liked my 03, but LOVE my 04(so far)
I love my 05 supercrew. If you go this rought I recommend the backup sensors located in the rear bumper. It saved me many times over especially when it comes to those low riders. Also you must go with 4 wheel drive. My truck has never gotten stuck in 2 wheel drive but its good to know its there just in case. You be happy with whatever you buy.
if you have the money i would deffinitaly consider the 04's because they have the newer frame design thats like 400% stronger or somthing like that. i just got an 05 fx4 excab and love it.
oo and the 2003 have the 260 hp 5.4 and the 04s have the 300 5.4
