Rough Sound When starting from cold!

Rough Sound When starting from cold!
Hello, wondering if you could help me? I have a 2003 F150 7700, 5.4L V8 xcab with 64000 miles on the clock. When I start the engine from cold it sounds really rough, almost like a diesel, until it warms up, then it seems to smooth out some. just wondering what could be the cause of this. I have checked all my fluids and everything seems ok. If i start the engine while it is still warm it seems ok, it cranks first time evertime, never cuts out, just sounds like a tractor until it wrms up. I am relatively new to all this so please bear with me if this is a simple or common problem. I am hoping it is something that doesn't cost too much and isn't too hard to rectify! Any help greatly appreciated!

After reading around the forum for a little bit, I was wondering if this could be related to rusted out pins on my headers?? I am at a loss, I just don't want to do any more damage to it if there is something seriously wrong with it!

It still seems to run ok. is there any way to stop piston slap? how much would it cost to sort out the problem if it is the manifold? there is also a slight ticking when idling when warm. Only really noticable when sat next to a wall, like in a drive through.
