4E13?
4E13 looks like a date code to me. Deciphered:4 for the year, E: for the month(A for Jan, B Feb ect) 13: for the date. 4E13: May 13, 1964,('54?). The Y block engines I have seen (not a lot) have a crossover pipe connecting the exhaust manifolds across the upper front of the engine. Can you find a casting number that might be: C4TE with perhaps another letter of two as a suffix?
If your motor is an FE family motor (perhaps 352,390), they have an intake manifold that tucks under the valve covers(about 1/3 of the valve cover seals on the manifold), the spark plugs slant into the center of the head rather than all facing the same way, and have exhaust flanges that protrude from the head. Most FE engines have a 352 cast onto the front of the driverside cylinder bank. www.wrljet.com/engines/ is a good site to go to compare the engines. It is a very educational Ford V8 site that covers small blocks, cleveland/M block, 429/460, FE/FT, Y, Flatheads, and Indy/Exotic.
