FMX vs. C 4

I am planning on putting an automatic in my 65 F-100 with 240 I-6. I will eventually be putting 3.00 gears in it, and have been told automatics are the best for my situation. I have tracked down both FMX and C 4 automatics at a local wrecking yard for reasonable prices. Which does everyone recommend. I have been told both are good, but don't really know much about automatics. Any opinions, facts and info about these two trannys would be great.

Thanks
Tim

FMX vs. C 4

Tim, if your just buying a core to have rebuilt I'd go with the C-4. It's lighter, more recent, and easier to get parts for. Rebuilt with good quality parts it will last a long time. A properly built C-4 will handle tons of power. The FMX is a good tranny too, but the aftermarket supports just not there. Good luck
