It's under the back bench seat (passenger side) on my extended cab '99. Maybe yours is the same. Just for the heck of it, I've used it in my garage on both the front and rear. It worked pretty good. But I still carry an extra screw jack (a big heavy one that you can't buy anymore) and a bottle jack just in case.
Not familiar w/ the year, BUT, if it has steel bumpers - why not get a Hi-Lift jack ? THAT will lift a semi AND can be used to pull yourself out of trouble when stuck.

No way I'd lift my truck with the bumpers. I've looked at how they are mounted. Plus my truck tops the scales at 7900 lbs.
