rattle in ceiling & tailgate

rattle in ceiling & tailgate
On cool mornings I have a loud rattle just behind my head in the ceiling. If I get out and thump the top of the cab right above the driver's side passenger seat I can clearly hear it - from the outside it's really loud! Is there anything I can do about this? I never hear good stories about people trying to put back up ceilings.
I also have a nasty rattle in my tailgate that makes me keep the rear slider closed if I have company in the truck or if I'm on a slightly rough, paved road. Can that be addressed?
Love my truck but these rattles are driving me BonKErs!
