Power steering fluid question?

Power steering fluid question?
Should power steering fluid be changed at any certain interval? Also, what kind of fluid should be used? The reason I ask that is because the owners manual states using ATF. I have a 2400 mile trip coming up and I'm wanting to do as much preventative maintenance as possible. The truck has almost 94k on it with just about all other fluids recently being changed. The PS fluid is the only one that is still factory original.

I've changed mine three times. I used Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF each time. Here's a link to help you out.

My truck is a V10 so I don't have a brake booster. The only thing I am debating now is if I should use ATF or actual PS fluid. Does it matter? I'm guessing my best bet is to disconnect the lines at the PS cooler and drain the system from there. Any thoughts?
