Wifes 98 Explorer won't start again.
For about the last two years, my wife Explorer has had problems starting. We have had it towed in to the mechanics four or five times now. All but the last time is started right away. The last time he went to start it and it didn't start. He then went in to get his tools to check it. He had his wife try and start it and it started. When he pulls the code, they are all good. We cannot figure out what is wrong. It is setting in our drive way right now and won't start. We live out of town so the mechanic can't come out right now, but said that he will next week.
Any help would be great.

for the heck of it, when you first get into the vehicle, turn the key to ON for 5 seconds without starting and let the fuel pump get pressurized. You can actually hear it "juice up" if you listen carefully. Then try to start as normal.
Have you checked your ignition coil.. my jeep did the same thing.. wouldn't start... took it to machnics(towed it) started right up.. 2 weeks later.. same thing.. ramdomly wouldn't start.. sounds kindof like ur problem.. ignition coil was 40.00.. good luck
I have a 97 exploder with the 4.0 SOHC engine and kept having intermittent starting problems.(engine would turn over fine but would not start)...the crankshaft position sensor was dirty.......a mechanic friend reminded me to look for fire first then fuel problems as the engine would not fuel itself with out the signal for fire.
The sensor can be accessed from under the front end. Try taking it down (1 maybe 2 bolts) then wipe it off as it is sealed on the end. Try this and see if it helps. It counts the splines in the crankshaft pulley and looks for the open spot to know where it is in the cycle.
