m5od rubber plug replacement
i have a 95 f150 2wd with a m5od transmission. while i have the transmission out for clutch replacement, i decided to fix the 3 leaky rubber plugs on the back of the shift rails. i went to go buy "freeze plugs" but i found out that 5/8" are too small and 11/16" are too large. what size of plug works for that application? or, if there is no size that works well, do u think that using some rtv silicone sealant around the original rubber plugs would work? i just hate my good truck leaking from anything, and figure that rightn ow is the best time to take care of it, while the tranny is on the ground instead of in the truck.
thanks,
Lee

Dorman 555-108
I rebuilt my M5R2 and in the kit were 3 Dorman 555-108 expansion plugs.
Click on this URL http://www.dormanproducts.com
Search on Dorman part number 555-108.
They have a picture and specs. on the plug size.
It does say it's a nominal 5/8, 15.90 mm outside diameter.
If you can't find them locally, http://www.rockauto.com sells them but you have to buy a certain quantity and the shipping will cost more than the plugs.
