Howdy,
I am looking for suggestions on a one-piece, hard top tonneau cover for an '02 Supercrew. I would like to find one that will not require weather stripping on the bed rails.
Also, for those of you who have the Undercover, do you have problems with it scratching/rubbing the paint? How have you fixed the issue? And do you still feel like you made a good choice with the Undercover?

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT BUY A UNDERCOVER, I have one on my 03 screw and the front hinge points CRACK!!!, called the company head office and complaned, they wont do squat. I think there not strong enough in the front hinge points and they say its from missuse???, how its never been abused it just sits there??????
DO NOT BUY ONE
Hope the CEO reads this he'll know who this is, as he got some more free advertising just like I promised him.
try Leer... I think they make the bes toppers and covers out there. Why don't you put the weatherstripping on the cover instead of the bed rails..... I did that on a cab high topper I had installed. That way, I could take the top off and the bed would be clean.
You're sure you want a hard cover eh?
I have a Truxedo Lo-Pro on my truck and really like it.
I'ts pretty secure, looks good and rolls up easily so i can actually haul something in the truck. With a hard cover you have to plan in advance if you're going to haul anything taller than the box so you can remove the cover.
I've had my "Undercover" since about April of this year. Its on a 1998 regular cab flairside. I haven't had any problems at all with it. Haven't noticed any paint rubbing and it is water tight. The only issue that I had was where the side rail caps of the truck meet the cab area, theres an area after the cap ends that is lower than the horizontal rail behind the bed, this causes a slight gap underneath the hinge of the tonneau. I solved this by putting a little plumbers puddy under there to seal it off, works great. I have had the tonneau off of the truck several times and have had no issues with damage. After reading the post above that talked about the cracking hinge points, I checked mine again, so far no cracks, but I will keep an eye on it.
The "undercover" met my needs by providing a locking cover that was watertight and could be removed by one person. My experience with it has been good so far, but then again I haven't had to deal with customer service on any issues like the previous poster. Hope it helps with your decision.
Thank you for the replies. I had thought Undercover had no other issues other than rubbing paint. I will have to keep the hinge weakness in mind. How heavy is a Leer cover? Do they offer one in another material besides fiberglass?
This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but I love my Advance Cover folding tonneau. I've had it for 4 1/2 years now and it's still holding strong. Little to now water leakage, and extremely versitile. I think I paid $600 delivered. Best puchase I've made for my truck, hands down!
