Howdy,
I am looking for suggestions on a one-piece, hard top tonneau cover for an '02 Supercrew. I would like to find one that will not require weather stripping on the bed rails.
Also, for those of you who have the Undercover, do you have problems with it scratching/rubbing the paint? How have you fixed the issue? And do you still feel like you made a good choice with the Undercover?
I have a Century, good price, but I don't think any will totatly seal out dust. But they do seal out water, ice, snow, etc. A.R.E. is a good brand, as well as Leer. I have heard undercover is a good tonneau.
Just like anything else ya gotta shop for what you want. Price, function, durability, looks. It's up to you. Just rember this though, when you need to haul tall stuff, ya gotta take the damn thing off. So if you are hauling tall stuff, a soft or retracting cover will be the best.
i have the ARE on my ranger, and it only takes about 20 mins to take off, and it will take two people to take off the truck though. i really like mine, and it does have a gasket around the actual cover, not on the truck. the only thing i have on my bedrail is right in the front at the corners, nothing else. mine does seal, and they told me that if i got a seal for the tailgate, it would be waterproof in my bed. mine was about 750, i don't know what it would be for your truck though. just my 2 cents on mine
I have been lookin at snug tops and they are running around 850.00. Now I do have a 02 long bed, so I guess I can expect to pay more no matter what I go with. A friend of mine has a sport trac and she has a "********" on it and it has a rubber seal that I believe keeps out just about anything, without any scratching.

Have an '04 6.0 short bed and a A.R.E cost $1000.00. My dealer would take-off, reinstall and store without any additional fees. A.R.E was offering keyless entry without additional cost. Think it's a great investment, keeps me from placing everything inside the cab whenever I travel. Also has weather stripping around inside edge of cover and replaces that for free if worn. I looked at all the others and found that A.R.E was a bit more structually sound, also liked the fact that the keyhole wasn't exposed to rain, snow etc. Happy Shopping!
I have an Undercover and have had no problems whatsoever. After having it for 4 years, I will probably never buy anything else. As far as paint rubbing, I don't know because I have Line-X over the rails - I'm sure that a set of those plastic rail covers would yield the same results.
