I asked the seller a few questions, and this is his reply:
Actually they used 6 different trucks including a Chevorlet. This was one of the 6 trucks, I can get the documentation from the DMV. Pictures were just posted. Thank you for your interest
This is the 1 truck out of the 6 that was featured in the episode guest starring John Wayne.
"Which episode was the truck used in. Was this Fred's old red trcuk that has now been painted green or was it Grady's truck?? Aunt Ester's truck?? I am very interested in the truck."
Here is his reply:
"Not sure but as far as I know it was the one shown parked infront of the house and junk yard.
Thank you for your interest."
I figured he might be a good sport and ship it to me. After all, he's asking $75K. So I aksed:
"Would shipping to the Houston area be included in the price? How quickly can the truck be secured after the auction??"
His reply:
"Shipping is the responsiblity of the buyer, I'm in southern California. The truck will be ready as soon as the funds for payment have cleared."
Greedy SOB
He's added some photos. And to my horror, it has a bow tie emblem on the front of it. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!
What I wonder is why would they need six different trucks for the show, maybe two, one for interior and one for exterior shots. It's not like Fred raced through the country side and jumped washed out bridges, like the Dukes of Hazard or chased cars through the city like Starsky and Hutch. These shows I know went through dozens of cars filming these types of scenes. Fred, or Lamont, backed the truck up a few feet on the sound stage and unloaded junk from the back. Lamont would go "parking" with a girl every once in a while but I doubt if there was enough action to call for a stunt truck.
IMO, it's an ugly truck and for $75,000 I sure could find one heck of a nice restored truck and have it shipped from Florida to Alaska, with a lot of money left over.
The guy I posted about is not connected with the u-pay truck.
Nate Cooper has been scamming people for years selling poor quality reproductions of stuff that he has ripped off from other people. He also will get a new design part from a manufacturer to "Promote". The he will sell said part 2/3 times.
He uses many different names in his dealings, he was MrF-1 here before he was run off.

Yea, I remember all that. The guy is a tool. He was the one behind the "John Wayne" truck, and the school kid's truck too. I just thought he had something to do with this ebay thing since you posted a link to his site here. Now I get it; keep your enemies close...
In my original post I just made an off hand remark about Mr F1. I figure it would get Dick started. All I can say is I don't ever want Dick to have to track me down.
