to start i just replaced engine 4.9 i6 in my 87 f150 old engine ran but mains were shot it had good throttle response new engine 69000 miles on it runs but bogs down when you hit throttle after initial hit it races up and i bought a scanner and only code i come up with is 41 oxygen senser is running lean while i was testing it book said to hold throttle about 2000 rpms for 2 minutes to warm up oxygen sensor while doing this it would every 30 seconds or so drop like it was out of fuel but recover and holding 2000 rpms was quite difficult to say the least i checked fuel pressure and its fine i pulled of oxygen sensor and checked resistance it was a steady 6.5 to 6.8 my test meter isnttop of the line either should or can i clean it some way? oh i found the code on the koer test

Reason: word mispelled
well I replaced it and that wasnt a bad o2 sensor guy at auto part store said code saying it was running lean didnt mean o2 sensor was bad just meant it was working he said could be injectors vacum leak etc.. I still just replaced it it was only 41 bucks and another thing i dont have to guess at now im going to take injectors intake and fuel rail off old engine and swap them see if that works cross my fingers
well that was a waste of time still does same thing it has to be a diffrent sensor i got one i think it might be see if any of you guys agree its a manifold type air charged tempeture sensor oh and I havnt read codes yet I will do that tommorow I got disgusted and gave up for today I did buy some sea foam and dumped in tank and vaccum lines least of my problems am i spelling vaccum right lol it dont look right BUT I AM GETTING CLOSER IT IS RUNNING A LITTLE BETTER LESS HESITATION ill post tommorow about codes
ok today i ran the code reader on the koeo (key on engine off) no codes passed testing on the koer (key on engine running) I got 41 oxygen sensor always lean but i just replaced it so has to be somthing else I replaced the egr valve and the throttle position sensor the fuel pressure regulater oil sending unit after tps it ran a bit better but code says its running lean and exhuast fumes are pretty bad one wiff and it burned my nose and eyes doesnt that mean its running rich? oh and to make things a little harder my power steering high pressure hose blew ugh
