I just picked up the PS from the dealer this afternoon, it was in the shop for a heater core replacement. While driving home, I noticed it did not seem as responsive as usual. It was running fine when I took it in. Under acceleration, it will only get about 10 lbs of boost, normally it will get about 19-20 lbs of boost.
I was going to take it back, but the dealer was closed, will have to take it back on Monday. I looked under the hood and did not see anthing obvious that was disconnected, hoping it was somthing simple
Any ideas ?
Is the truck running like it only has 10lbs of boost? If not, maybe a boost line leak from mech under the hood. Other than that, make sure all you boots are tight. Don't know why they would have needed to loosen anything on the boost side to replace a heater core.
Map sensor sitts right above where he was working ther is an electrical plug toward the front and just behind it is the boost pressure hose. It runs from the map sensor to the intake Y just above the valley
Also he probably had the cold side IC pipe out check both of those boots and make sure he didnt leave a rag in one of the ends
Thanks guys................I will check the connections aroiund the map sensor and look at the boots on the IC pipe.
hedhngtr.. it is full of oil. If I can't find it, will take it back to the dealer on Monday
It was running 18lbs with the stock program and 20-21lbs with the programer at 60 hp. The boost numbers are max under excelleration. It was running fine before the heater core replacement so I am hoping it was something they did while working on it.
Dealership said it was nothing, apparently there was a clip on a linkage rod that came off. It was under the wastegate aucator on the botton side of the tubo. Best part, they did not charge me, they must have felt responsible
